Southern Vietnam will experience less rain for a few days before receiving a new front of wet weather, the local weather agency forecast on Monday.
After experiencing consecutive rainy days, the southern region will see a temporary respite lasting for several days from Monday before a new weather front carrying a lot of moisture brings more rain on July 6 to 7, the Southern Hydro-meteorological Station said.
Following interrupted sunlight on Monday morning, the region will have rain and thunder come in the afternoon and evening in different localities, but the rainy weather will generally reduce from the day through Thursday.
Despite milder rain, whirlwinds, strong winds, and lightning will still likely occur, the forecasting agency warned.
The lowest and highest temperatures in southern Vietnam on Monday will reach 24 and 34 degrees Celsius, respectively, the station said.
Meanwhile, the northern region was forecast to experience hot weather during the day on Monday before showers and thunderstorms hit some localities in the evening.
Many northern mountainous areas will be covered with torrential rains at night time.
Hanoi will suffer hot weather of up to 37 degrees Celsius on Monday along with rainstorms, whirlwinds, and lightning during the evening.
The northeastern region will have the same weather conditions as Hanoi, but temperatures may amount to 38 degrees Celsius.
The Da Nang-Binh Thuan area, on the central coast of Vietnam, will experience the same heat and rainstorms from afternoon until night in some localities.
Higher heat will hit the Thanh Hoa - Thua Thien Hue region, with the temperature forecast to reach over 39 degrees Celsius in several places.
In the central part of the country, the main weather pattern will be characterized by heat in daytime and showers and thunderstorms in the evening.
In the Central Highlands region, heavy rains and downpours will likely occur and the weather will be less hot, at 31 degrees Celsius at most.
