Ho Chi Minh City hosted the final round of Vietnam’s second rescue competition on Saturday, with the participation of 600 contestants.
The competition was aimed at enhancing the expertise of firefighters and rescue workers as well as enabling them to meet and exchange experience.
The participants were required to compete in such categories as rescue swimming, water rescue, 100-meter obstacle course plus rescue, and toxic environment rescue.
In the category of 100-meter obstacle course plus rescue, contestants needed to get through iron obstacles and perform rescue tasks.
This category required the participants to have good health, sufficient knowledge and rescue skills, and the skillful use of rescue equipment and vehicles to ensure the rescuers remained safe and the victims were saved swiftly.
