An electric scooter suddenly burst into flames while on a street in Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday.

A young man was riding the electric scooter on Thach Lam Street at about 2:00 pm when he began to smell smoke coming from the vehicle.

He stopped the scooter and began shouting for help when he realized it was on fire.

Local residents tried to help the man with fire extinguishers, but their efforts were in vain.

A fire truck and local fire fighters were later dispatched to the scene to extinguish the fire.

The local authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.
