-- Da Nang International Airport in Da Nang City, central Vietnam on Wednesday morning reported that a flight bound for Hanoi had to be abruptly delayed as passengers had conversed about the presence of firearms in their baggage during the boarding process on Tuesday night. The entire cabin crew and passengers underwent security rechecks, but no weapons were found.

-- Heavy rainfall caused serious flooding in many streets and low-lying areas in Da Nang City on Tuesday afternoon.

-- Police in Thu Duc City under Ho Chi Minh City recently apprehended three young men who were captured on video riding a motorcycle and doing a wheelie on the roof of the Thu Thiem Tunnel, a source said on Tuesday.

-- Police in Hanoi said on Tuesday that they recently summoned a teenage boy born in 2006 who transported a girl seated face-to-face on his family’s motorbike.

-- The Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City has announced that it will conduct unannounced inspections of advertisments at the Phu Dong, Cong Truong Dan Chu, and Hang Xanh roundabouts both this month and next month.

Business

-- Many Vietnamese export firms have reported that China, one of Vietnam’s major seafood importers, is increasing its restrictions on the import of lobsters from various countries, including live tropical rock lobsters from Vietnam.

-- Vietnam’s tuna exports to the Middle East dropped 25 percent compared to the same period in 2022 to nearly US$56 million in January-September, primarily attributable to the Gaza-Israel conflict, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

-- Da Nang tops the list of the 10 most sought-after destinations for Indian tourists, according to global travel search site Skyscanner’s latest report on India’s travel landscape.

-- Wild sunflowers have burst into full bloom across the forests, valleys, and roads in Da Lat City of Lam Dong Province, located in Vietnam’s Central Highlands region, marking the end of the rainy season and turning the city into a prime destination for those seeking to revel in the vibrant blossoms and refreshing air.
