A child in Hanoi jeopardized his life by rushing out to the road while a bus was approaching to tease the bus driver.
He seemed to ignore the danger of his reckless act.
A video showing the child running onto the road when a bus was coming has gone viral on social media.
At first glance, it looked like that he was trying to cross the road.
However, when getting closer, the video recorder saw the child gloating. He just wanted to annoy the driver.
The video helps awaken parents, reminding them to pay more attention to their children and educate them to follow traffic regulations.
Some 3,000 teenagers die of traffic accidents per year on average and teenagers are involved in around 40 percent of the traffic accidents nationwide, Khuat Viet Hung, executive vice-chairman of Vietnam's National Traffic Safety Committee, said at a ceremony in September to call on students to strictly comply with traffic regulations in the 2023-24 academic year in Dong Nai Province, a neighbor of Ho Chi Minh City.
Students are both victims and the cause of traffic accidents, according to Tran Van Dat from the Ministry of Education and Training.
