The administration of District 1 in Ho Chi Minh City has said it is addressing excessive parking fees at tourist spots such as Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street and Bach Dang Wharf in response to complaints made by residents and visitors.
The People’s Committee of the district vows to handle unauthorized parking operations while intensifying inspections of licensed parking establishments.
It plans to organize motorcycle parking through bidding on the three routes near Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street, namely Mac Thi Buoi, Ngo Duc Ke, and Hai Trieu, to select suitable operators and set reasonable charges.

It also proposed that the city extend public transportation hours during festivals to reduce personal vehicles and deter overcharging.
