Traffic police in northern Vietnam’s Quang Tri Province offered help and food for two female foreign travelers who met with a traffic accident in the province on Lunar New Year’s Eve.
Susan, with Canadian nationality, and Leanda, a UK national, both aged 30, fell off their motorbike and were slightly injured while they were traveling on National Highway 1 in Quang Tri on Friday night, just hours before the eve of Tet, the provincial traffic police division reported on Sunday.
A traffic police team on duty near the site of the accident came to the scene and called an ambulance to bring the two foreigners to a health center for treatment of the injuries.
Police officers also brought the foreigners’ bike to their office in Hai Lang District.
After taking care of their injuries, the two foreign women were escorted by the police team to their office, where they took a rest and had a dinner offered by the team.
The two travelers later received some advice from the team and continued their journey.
They later sent a thank-you letter to the traffic police division under the provincial police department, expressing their deep gratitude to the traffic police officers who timely and thoughtfully assisted them when they had the accident.
The two foreign women were also thanked for the care and the dinner received at the police station.
Vietnam is a wonderful country with hospitable, enthusiastic and warm-hearted people, they wrote.
