American billionaire Bill Gates and his girlfriend arrived in Da Nang City, central Vietnam for a leisure trip on Monday, following their attendance at a pre-wedding celebration for the son of Asia’s wealthiest billionaire Mukesh Ambani in India.

According to Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper’s sources, the couple landed at Da Nang International Airport on their private plane, a Gulfstream G650ER model, and are currently lodging at a 5-star resort in the coastal city’s Son Tra peninsula.

They are supposed to spend approximately five days in Da Nang and Hoi An City in neighboring Quang Nam Province, BNN Breaking, an international news network, reported.

This marks Bill Gates’ second visit to Vietnam.

The billionaire first traveled to Vietnam in 2006 for business engagements related to the information technology sector.

During that trip, he also spent time visiting Tu Son District in the northern province of Bac Ninh and experienced some local customs.

Before their trip to Vietnam, Gates and his girlfriend Paula Hurd joined the global elite at a lavish US$120 million wedding celebration for the son of Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani.

As of March, Gates has an estimated net worth of $150 billion, making him the fifth-richest person in the world, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Gates co-founded Microsoft, the world’s biggest software maker, with his friend Paul Allen in 1975 in Albuquerque City, located in the southwestern U.S. state of New Mexico.

Until 2014, he held various key positions including CEO, chairman of the board of directors, and chief software architect.
