Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Phan Van Mai has urged relevant units to expedite the improvement of service quality and the overall image at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, with the aim of boosting tourism.

Mai asked the Tan Son Nhat airport operator to work with the Vietnam Immigration Department under the Ministry of Public Security to enhance the operation efficiency at immigration gates.

The relevant units were tasked with employing technology, priority services, and priority lanes to ease congestion and shorten the time needed for immigration procedures.

The Southern Airports Authority and Tan Son Nhat International Airport should closely cooperate to arrange lanes and regulate baggage carousels in a scientific and reasonable manner.

The municipal chairman also expected to enrich green coverage at the airport.

The relevant bodies were also told to close some stalls selling unnecessary goods to make room for essential services, apart from creating charming and modern spaces to make passengers more comfortable and satisfied.

Chairman Mai suggested that the Southern Airports Authority and the Vietnam Immigration Department work together with relevant agencies and units to manage the increase in night flights at the airport.

The municipal Department of Transport is responsible for improving traffic flow in the airport vicinity, effectively addressing congestion issues at the airport entrance, and ensuring overall traffic safety.
