The six routes include flights from Hanoi, Nha Trang in south-central Khanh Hoa Province, Da Lat in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, central Da Nang City, Phu Quoc in southern Kien Giang Province, and Hue City in central Thua Thien - Hue Province to Ho Chi Minh City, according to Vo Ngoc Diep, head of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism’s lodging facility management division.
She added that the discount program will be available in July and August to attract more visitors to Ho Chi Minh City and offset summer airfare hikes.
Sixteen accommodation providers in the southern metropolis have put their names down for the program, including Muong Thanh Luxury Saigon, EMM Hotel Saigon, Liberty Central Saigon Citypoint, Liberty Central Saigon Riverside, Dong Khanh, A25, Lotte Hotel Saigon, Silverland Yen, The Myst, Silverland Sakyo, Silverland May, Liberty Central Saigon Centre, Nicecy Hotel, Metro Point Hotel, Lafelix, and Emerald Boutique.
They have brought forward their own discounts from 20 to 100 percent for the first night for guests arriving on night flights operated by Vietnam Airlines before 6:00 am and after 9:00 pm, as long as they stay at the lodging facilities for at least two nights.
Tourists should directly contact lodging facilities to book rooms, Diep recommended.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism will work with other air carriers in the coming time to extend the program.
It will also work with eateries, restaurants, shopping and healthcare centers to launch other preferential programs, the official informed.
