Khanh Hoa Province in south-central Vietnam will begin welcoming tourists from Warsaw, Poland from January next year.
Nguyen Duc Tan, general director of Anex Vietnam Travel and Trading Co. Ltd. headquartered in Khanh Hoa, said on Thursday that the company had cooperated with Ukrainian air carrier SkyUp Air Line to transport travelers from Poland to Cam Ranh International Airport in Khanh Hoa.
The initiative was made despite ongoing economic crisis in the European market, Tan said, adding that the company needs support from management agencies and partners in the aviation, transport, and hotel sectors.
The flights from Poland will be the first-ever charter flights from Europe to Cam Ranh International Airport.
Khanh Hoa expects to welcome at least three such flights with a combined 500-531 passengers each month.
Passengers on these flights will stay at three- to five-star lodging facilities in the province for nine days on average.
In related news, Nha Trang City in Khanh Hoa Province is scheduled to welcome 150 travel agents from Kazakhstan and the Commonwealth of Independent States early next month.
They will come to the city to attend tourism seminars, survey local travel companies and tourist destinations there to learn about the city’s tourism potential, and then build appropriate cooperation plans.
Khanh Hoa Province welcomed some nine million tourists in January-September this year, surging 57.9 percent year-on-year and meeting the full-year target.
The province brought in over VND44.1 trillion (US$1.8 billion) in tourism revenue during that period, soaring 61.9 percent over the same period last year and exceeding the 2024 target by 10 percent, director of the provincial Department of Tourism Nguyen Thi Le Thanh said at a meeting on Thursday.
