-- As part of his official trip to the United Arab Emirates, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met on Sunday with leaders from top corporations involved in infrastructure development, seaports, logistics, and industrial parks.

Society

-- Despite its substantial downgrade, storm Trami has brought heavy to extremely heavy rain to Vietnam’s central region since Sunday night, with the total rainfall ranging from 150mm to 250mm, even exceeding 400mm in some places, after making landfall in Thua Thien-Hue Province, Da Nang City, and Quang Nam Province around noon on Sunday. This weather condition poses a high risk of dangerous floods and landslides. 

-- Rapidly rising floodwaters inundated 600 households, with 460 completely submerged in Vinh Long Commune, Vinh Linh District, Quang Tri Province in north-central Vietnam on Sunday. This situation prompted the evacuation of 1,662 residents in the same evening.

-- Continuous heavy rains from storm Trami flooded several sections of the North-South railway line through Le Thuy District in Quang Binh Province and Vinh Linh District in Quang Tri Province, stranding trains at Dong Hoi and Dong Ha Stations.

-- In Thua Thien-Hue Province, two people lost their lives to storm Trami. In Quang Nam Province, one person died while trying to protect their home against the storm.

-- Each year, the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital of Dermatology and Venereology evaluates over 52,000 psoriasis patients. About three percent of the city's population is currently affected by the condition.

Business

-- The National University of Singapore's School of Computing (NUS Computing) has partnered with FPT, a top global tech corporation from Vietnam, to advance AI cooperation. Together with key local and regional AI players, they plan to jointly invest $50 million over the next five years to drive pioneering AI research and enhance talent development.

Lifestyle

-- According to data from The Box Office Vietnam, ‘Venom: The last dance’ topped the box office last week, earning over VND37.5 billion ($1.5 million) within its three opening days.
