Many signs showing the way to some metro stations of the first metro line in Ho Chi Minh City have been removed after Tuoi Tre (Youth) reported that the signs misled foreigners about the metro line operation.
In particular, the signage on some streets, such as Hai Ba Trung and Nguyen Sieu, in District 1 has been cleared.
Tuoi Tre reported on October 25 that signs directing people to metro stations had been installed around some station areas, despite the metro line still being incomplete and not yet in service.
These signs caused confusion among foreign tourists, with some even searching for metro stations under the impression that the line was already operational.

It runs 19.7 kilometers from Ben Thanh Market in District 1 to Suoi Tien Theme Park in Thu Duc City, including 2.6 kilometers of underground railways and 17.1 kilometers of elevated railways.
The route features three subterranean stations and 11 stations above ground.
