-- Vietnam’s Party General Secretary To Lam and his spouse will pay an official visit to Malaysia from November 21 to 23 at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his spouse, according to the Party Central Committee's Commission for External Relations.

-- Chairman of Vietnam's lawmaking National Assembly (NA) Tran Thanh Man will lead a high-ranking delegation to pay an official visit to Cambodia and attend the 12th General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties as well as the 11th Plenary Session of International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace from November 21 to 24, the Vietnam News Agency cited the NA's Foreign Affairs Committee as saying.

-- Police in Tay Ninh Province, southern Vietnam said on Monday that they had busted the largest-ever cigarette smuggling ring in the province, arresting four suspects and seizing 50,000 packs of cigarettes, a car, a motorbike, two mobile phones, and many other exhibits.

-- Authorities in Tam Nong District, Phu Tho Province, northern Vietnam are searching for four missing eighth graders who were suspected of drowning while swimming in a local river. The body of an eighth-grade girl was found on Monday evening, a local official told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper the same day.

-- Many parents complained on Monday that medical check-ups for students at a middle school in Quang Ngai Province, central Vietnam were done cursorily at an average of below 30 seconds per student.

-- Police in Da Nang City, central Vietnam on Monday filed charges against Nguyen Quang Hoang, general director of GFDI Investment Consulting Company, over allegations of swindling to appropriate assets. Hoang was found to have arrogated over VND3.7 trillion (US$145.5 million) from more than 7,500 customers since May 2018.

-- The 2024 Binh Phuoc Marathon - Truong Tuoi Group is set to take place in southern Binh Phuoc Province on November 23 and 24 with the participation of over 10,000 local and international runners.

World News

-- “At least eight people were killed as super typhoon Man-Yi hit the Philippine archipelago over the weekend, unleashing fierce winds and strong rains that triggered landslides and storm surges,” Reuters reported.
