With the goal of increasing the fairness and transparency of professional matches, the Vietnam Basketball Association (VBA) has cooperated with Sportradar to prevent match-fixing in the new basketball season.

Sportradar is a Swiss company specializing in the research and analysis of sports data in the world, especially experienced in the bet monitoring of sports tournaments through the Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS).

The UFDS is specifically designed for identifying sporting events that have signs related to betting and result-fixing.

With its algorithms, Sportradar has contributed to detecting many instances of match-fixing in sports that have shocked the world.

Since then, it has been trusted by major partners such as the International Olympic Committee, the National Basketball Association in North America, China’s CBA League, the National Basketball League in Oceania, and FIFA - the international governing body for football.

In Vietnam, Sportradar is familiar with football. Typically, their system was used in bet monitoring tournaments such as the National Football League Championship (V-League 1) and the National Football League First Division (V-League 2).

Following the sport's progress, this cooperation is an affirmative action that VBA always maintains integrity in the organization as well as supervises the professional matches for the audience in the near future.

When the season takes place, Sportradar will be provided with full information about the matches by VBA such as player list and schedule before each game.

Sportradar will monitor the betting data from more than 600 global bookmakers before and during the match.

Using algorithms and various information sources, Sportradar experts will analyze unusual betting patterns and immediately notify VBA of suspicious matches.

Based on that, VBA will work with relevant police forces to track down suspicious transactions and documents from the individuals and organizations involved in order to handle them promptly and ensure the integrity of the match.

VBA hopes that this multifaceted fraud prevention and control from the internet to real life will increasingly improve the quality of the league, contributing to protecting the purity of sports.

At the same time, it proves that in every season, VBA is worthy of the fans' trust in transparent and sublime matches.
