The central city of Da Nang will host its first annual international marathon on September 1 under the organization of the US-based World Marathon Tours.

Participants will have a chance to enjoy this coastal city with beautiful beaches boasting some of the best resorts in Southeast Asia. The city is also surrounded by several UNESCO world heritage sites such as the former imperial city of Hue and Hoi An Ancient Town. It is expected that around 2,000 – 3,000 international and domestic athletes, as well as tourists and locals will take part in the race separated in three events of full marathon (42.195km), half marathon (21.097km) and a 5km fun run for all to enjoy.

The course has been measured and certified to international standard by the International Association of Athletics Federations and the Association of International Marathon and Distance Races (IAAF-AIMS).

To take part, participants can register at www.rundanang.com with a fee of US$80 for full event and $60 for the half event, and $25 for fun run.

Besides the race, participants will have opportunities to enjoy relevant activities like a gala dinner in combination with charitable activities.

Registration deadline will be accepted till May 31, 2013 and may extend to July 31.
