Investigators found that during a match between Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Dong Nai on November 24 last year, N.S.H., L.B.G.H., P.V.P., N.Q.H., and N.K.D. agreed not to play as well as they could and chose not to attack in order for their team to lose 0-2.

They were each paid VND24 million (US$942) following the match.

In the Ba Ria - Vung Tau versus SHB Da Nang match on December 24, 2023, N.S.H., L.B.G.H., P.V.P., N.Q.H., and T.K.A. played below par.
