Located in a small alley on Nguyen Thai Binh Street in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, a special green space has been launched by a group of young women with the aim of inspiring love for the environment.
Paying a visit to the 'Tram Xanh,' meaning 'Green Station,' visitors will have a chance to experience and practice a green lifestyle with many things made of environment-friendly materials.
Green Station was set up by young women who have a special love for the environment.
They are Tran Thi Mai Yen, Vu Nguyen Ngoc Tram, and others from Saigon Compass, which is a social enterprise founded in 2018 that coordinates and supports programs on education and environmental issues.
The youth started the Green Station with the aim of promoting a stable lifestyle by using ‘green’ products that do less damage to the environment.
Many of Green Station’s visitors are impressed by the unique venue which displays various recycled products like handbags made of old jeans, blankets made of pieces of cloth, bamboo brushes, bamboo straws, bags made of lotus leaves, and more.
Visitors can also taste herbal teas made of natural ingredients and learn about natural detergents made from orange and pineapple peels.
“In using environmentally friendly products, people will be inspired to adopt a green lifestyle," said Tran Thi Mai Yen.
“This is also a place to which the youth can bring their environmentally friendly products in order to showcase, sell or exchange with others."

Every month, Tram Xanh organizes film screenings on plastic waste, ecological agriculture, plants, and the earth to provide visitors with more knowledge about the environment and promote their devotion to nature.
The organizers also hold themed events such as making handbooks with scraps of cloth, creating handmade crafts from recycled textiles, planting trees, and conserving sea turtles.
Tram Xanh collects electronic waste such as batteries, used laptops, and power chargers for safe recycling.
The organizers take old clothes and textbooks as donations to bring them to children who live in remote areas.
