South of Phu Quoc Island off Kien Giang Province in southern Vietnam lie unspoiled and breathtaking islets that boast vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life, inviting tourists to partake in mesmerizing sea walks for an unforgettable experience.

The islets of May Rut Trong, May Rut Ngoai, Thom, Xuong, and Gam Ghi shelter a lively coral world of many types including acropora hyacinthus, eunicella verrucosa, dendrogyra cylindricus, porites lobata, mussidae, and fungia, to name a few.

According to local people, May Rut Ngoai and Gam Ghi Islets are the best spots for admiring the beauty of coral reefs. 

Besides the fascinating world of coral, tourists who go sea walking at the islets may find themselves immersed in the aquatic landscape which is home to 135 species of fish.

"This is the first time I have been able to walk on the seabed and see the coral and marine fish ecosystem down there,” said Nguyen Le Lan, a visitor from Ho Chi Minh City. 

“The scene unfolded before me like a masterpiece lifted from the pages of books, newspapers, or television, each detail as captivating as if it were painted onto a canvas.

“I think this unique ecosystem is a precious natural asset that needs to be preserved and respected.”

As per the Kien Giang Department of Science and Technology, the waters surrounding Phu Quoc host approximately 108 coral species, thriving due to the region's favorable marine conditions and the conscientious preservation efforts of local authorities, residents, and visitors alike.
