Tourism agencies in Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam are developing various wedding tourism-driven products and services to lure local and international couples.

Numerous couples from Vietnam, Australia, and Hong Kong have organized their wedding ceremonies in the coastal province.

A month ago, the wedding of Vietnamese actress Puka and singer Gin Tuan Kiet was held near a beach in Cam Ranh City under the province. The wedding was attended by many A-list celebrities and drew much attention from the public.

“Since the start of the year, about 20 weddings have been hosted at Alma Resort in Cam Ranh City,” said Vu Thi Huong Giang, manager of the resort.

The trend of weddings in combination with travel is becoming more and more popular, she said.

Khanh Hoa Province has emerged as an appealing wedding tourism destination as it is home to numerous seaside resorts that are close to Cam Ranh International Airport and some expressways.

“We will provide couples with food and locations for their weddings, while teaming up with our partners to complete decoration and concept-development steps,” Giang shared.

Many resorts and hotels in Khanh Hoa Province are offering all-in marriage party packages, including sauna and spa services, barbecue parties, and film screenings, to delight couples.

Moreover, couples can experience many other thrilling activities such as taking a boat to an island in Nha Trang, a popular beach city in south-central Vietnam, going snorkeling, and camping. 

Ung Van Nhut, chairman of Global Open Tour JSC, said that wedding tourism generates huge revenue.

Couples from India, Europe, and the United States are willing to splurge up to millions of U.S. dollars on their most important lifetime event, he said.

Though weddings at resorts mainly handle some 300 guests, they tend to travel to the wedding destination earlier than the party to explore famous tourist sites, leading to longer stays, which contributes to beefing up the locality’s tourism revenue.

In addition, weddings can help the province introduce its landscapes and cultural features.

Some Indian billionaires had previously held their weddings in Da Nang City and on Phu Quoc Island off the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang.

Consequently, travel firms in Khanh Hoa Province are speeding up their partnership with Indian partners to tap this potential source market, said Nhut. 

Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, director of the provincial Department of Tourism, said that local firms always introduce all-in tours, including marriage parties, to couples at travel fairs and tourism promotion programs.

The provincial department will join hands with the Khanh Hoa Province Tourism Association to roll out a wide range of activities linked to wedding tourism in the coming time in order to spur the province’s attractiveness among local and international couples who intend to host a wedding ceremony and explore beautiful places, said Thanh.

Khanh Hoa Province is planning to organize a mass wedding for couples in 2024, said Bui Hoai Nam, chairman of the Khanh Hoa Province Federation of Labor.

The federation is conducting a survey targeting unmarried workers in the province on the need for a mass wedding.

The wedding will be financed by the federation.

The plan is meant to push for the organization of mass weddings for groups of tourists.
