Ocean Palace Group introduces Chinese New Year cakes

Tet, or Lunar New Year, is a time of enjoying many delicious foods. On this occasion, Ocean Palace Group, which manages 2 top Chinese restaurants in town, introduces a special menu of take-away New Year cakes, one of Chinese popular desserts eaten during this festive season.

Chinese New Year cake is made with sticky, glutinous rice flour (mochi flour) and brown sugar. In Mandarin, this cake is called nian gao which means higher year. It is not only a yummy dessert but also something bringing luck to the Chinese people. It reflects people’s wish to make all living standards higher and higher. Every year, the New Year cake brings new hopes to the people and heralds in a better life in the New Year.

This year, Ocean Palace Group offers more hopes with 4 different kinds of cakes: Double Happiness New Year Cake, Radish Cake, Traditional Cake and Water Chestnut Cake, priced from VND300,000/cake.

These Chinese New Year cakes are available before and during Tet time at Ocean Palace Restaurant (2 Le Duan Street, District 1, Tel: 39118822) and Hoang Ngoc Saigon Pearl Restaurant (92 Nguyen Huu Canh Street, Binh Thanh District, Tel: 35149883).

Ocean Place is a high-grade Chinese restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City which is located at 2 Le Duan street, opposite to the Zoo and Petro Vietnam Tower. The large elegant dining room on ground floor is simplistic yet stylish, with capacity of 280 diners. Up on the first floor are 6 private rooms and a big ballroom which can host 350 guests at the same time.
