Vietnamese retailer The Gioi Di Dong (Mobile World) has signed an exclusive cooperation agreement with Richburry Ltd., a manufacturer of copyrighted superhero watches, to bring limited edition watches featuring characters from famous fantsy series Justice League and Transformers to Vietnam next month.
Watches of the Justice League-Dumier and Transformer-Lamer collections are expected to be on sale at The Gioi Di Dong chains from early November, according to the agreement.
The signing, which brought good news to local fans of the American superhero series, allows Vietnam to become one of a few Asian destinations to sell authentic limited edition superhero watches, besdies China, Hong Kong, Macao, Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan.
Superhero fans in Vietnam have had to travel overseas to be able to buy superhero watches like those. It is not always easy to get one, as the watches are all limited editions which are not available for mass purchases.
From next month, customers in Vietnam who are fond of the products no longer have to waste money on traveling overseas but are still able to own a collection of watches at reasonable prices, and receive the best policies for authentic products when shopping at Mobile World.
Superheroes in Hollywood blockbuster series, with familiar names such as Batman and Aquaman, have long been ingrained in the minds of generations of audience around the world.
The first shipment of superhero watches to Vietnam is expected to have three collections - Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Megatron for the Transformers series, and Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman for Justice League.
A collection of deluxe sporty watches called Nurburg will also be officially available at Mobile World in early November.

Mobile World, which owns thegioididong.com and dienmayxanh.com chains, has achieved impressive success although it has only entered the watch market in March.
In September alone, Mobile World sold 50,000 watches of various brands, including Casio, Citizens, Orient, Fossil, Michael Kors, Titan and Anne Klein.
The company is fast approaching its goal of opening 200 watch supermarkets in 2019, and 500 by June 2020 with the aim to account for 50 percent of the market and reach an “unbelievable” number of three million units sold next year.
