Tuoi Tre News is the English publication of Tuoi Tre, one of the biggest-selling dailies in Vietnam.
Michael Tatarski, an American who has lived in Ho Chi Minh City for over three years, works in the newsroom as an English language editor.
A team of Vietnamese translators at Tuoi Tre News creates English versions of news stories originally published in Vietnamese, and Tatarski then edits the stories to improve the grammar and structure to a native-English level, or close to it.
Lauren Andrews, another American expat living in Ho Chi Minh City, records audio versions of stories posted at tuoitrenews.vn.
This allows Vietnamese readers to listen to a story while they read it and learn how certain words or phrases are pronounced by a native English speaker.
