Five students at a Ho Chi Minh City university have won seats in a media internship program funded by a UK-based company.

The media majors will intern in Singapore for two months after being selected as successful candidates in a competition organized by MP & Silva, an international media rights company based in London.

They are Nguyen Quang Huy, Nguyen Truong Giang, Nguyen Phuong Anh, Nguyen Thi Xuan Huong, and Le Thi Thuong, all coming from the Faculty of Journalism and Communication of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

The five will engage in the production process of an international sports TV program, including studio production, on-site production, video camera operation, post-production, satellite transmission, press release writing, skills and strategies to deal with the press, and marketing strategy development

Three most excellent students will be contracted to work for MP & Silva after the two-month period.

The UK firm plans to produce 19 media professionals via this competition, Play for Change, which is its partnership with the university.

In this contest, candidates are tested on problem-solving strategies, knowledge, journalistic skills, and English command during two demanding interviews.

MP & Silva manages sports TV rights for a range of international sporting events such as FIFA World Cup, Europe's top football leagues, Grand Slam tennis, motor racing, volleyball, and the Asian Games.
