Wuthering Heights to be screened for free in big cities

“Wuthering Heights,” Andrea Arnold’s 2011 British romantic drama film based on Emily Brontë’s renowned 1847 novel of the same name will be shown in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City late this month.

The film premiered at the 68th Venice International Film Festival in 2011 and appeared at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival as a Special Presentation. It was also showcased at many other film festivals including London Film Festival, Zurich Film Festival and Maryland Film Festival.

As scheduled, the movie will be brought to Vietnamese cinema lovers at 7pm on May 23 and 25 at HCMC’s Cinebox – 212 Ly Chinh Thang Street, 8pm on May 26 at Da Nang’s Le Do Cinema – 46 Tran Phu Street as well as at 10am on May 25 and 8pm the next day at the Hanoi’s National Cinema Center – 87 Lang Ha Street.

Tickets are being released for free at The British Council at 20 Thuy Khue Street in Hanoi and 25 Le Duan in HCMC.

The screening of the movie is part of the European Film Festival taking place in the three cities from May 15 to May 26. This year’s festival features 16 notable films from 14 European countries. The movies are in many categories including animated films, drama, romance, comedy and documentary.

Last year, the festival took place in Da Nang, gathering a number of movies fans in the central city.
