Australia will be the next destination for Vietnamese movie My Nhan Ke (The Lady Assassin), directed by Nguyen Quang Dung and featuring celebrities such as Tang Thanh Ha, Thanh Hang, after being screened in the US.

The movie will be shown in Australia on July 10th after being screened in Los Angeles and other US cities

Although receiving conflicting feedback, The Lady Assassin was shown in the US on June 28th, sooner than other previous Vietnamese films like Chuyen Tinh Xa Xu (Passport to Love), Dong Mau Anh Hung (The Rebel) or De Mai Tinh (Fool for Love) which took at least 6 months to one year to be screened there.

The film talks about the beautiful landlady Kieu Thi (featuring Thanh Hang) and her three hostesses at shoreline Duong Son Tavern. The girls lure weary travelers then rob and murder them. One day, Linh Lan (featuring Tang Thanh Ha) appears and begs Kieu Thi to train her in martial arts so that she could kill Quan Du, the man who killed her family.

The Lady Assassin is the first 3D movie directed by Nguyen Quang Dung, and is the second Vietnamese 3D movie after Bong Ma Hoc Duong (School Ghost). It broke record when hitting VND60 billion ($3 million) in box office.
