Vietnamese traditional music showcased at America’s schools

Vietnamese traditional music is being showcased at a tour titled “Traditional Music of Vietnam” held around universities and colleges in America by the Institute for Vietnamese Culture & Education.

According to the organizer, a special program of the Vietnamese concert will be presented during this tour through folksongs, traditional and ethnic music, poetry chant, instrumental music, and musical theater. The program includes an irresistible combination of passion, colors, memories, and theatrical acts through both traditional and contemporary perspectives.

Artistic director and musician Nguyen Thuyet Phong, Vietnamese traditional music  artists Nguyen Tan Ton Nu Y Nhi, Khuong Van Cuong, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Khanh and American musician and educator David Badagnani are joining the tour.

"Traditional Music of Vietnam" is visiting schools including Bates College, College of the Holy Cross, Harvard University, Yale University, Princeton University and CUNY Graduate Center until November 23. More information on the tour’s schedule can be found at http://www.ivce.org/
