A photographer and director from France has captured his beautiful memories from his recent trip to Vietnam and put them into a stunning video featuring local landscapes and people from the northern to the southern regions.
The video, titled “Memories of Vietnam,” was made after 22-year-old Leo Bigiaoui’s first ever trip to the country in May with three of his friends.
Bigiaoui told Tuoi Tre News that he traveled many places from the North to the South including Sa Pa, Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Cat Ba, Hue, Hoi An, Da Lat, the Mekong Delta, and Phu Quoc Island.
“It was the best travel experience I’ve ever made,” he said. “I have always wanted to visit Southeast Asia, especially Vietnam because I saw a lot of pictures of the landscapes on the Internet and I was in love with the mood and atmosphere of this country,” he added.
Bigiaoui had to spend more than 50 hours in total editing the 4-minute-30-second video, let alone the time he spent filming the scenes.
Explaining why he chose “Memories of Vietnam” as the title, Bigiaoui said it was because he was nostalgic of his travel and ‘memories’ is a word that refers to emotions and feelings.
“During my trip in Vietnam I was moved by the people and the landscapes,” he expressed.
“My first impression about the country is that I was amazed by the variety of landscapes and atmospheres the country offers. It’s very rare. People were very nice with us, and we often had dinner with Vietnamese with a lot of "trăm phần trăm” [100 percent – a Vietnamese way of saying ‘bottoms up’ while drinking] and happy water!”
