The 2014 International Grapes and Wine Festival, running in central Vietnam’s Ninh Thuan Province from now to Saturday, is now attended by 11 international groups and features a clutch of cultural and festive activities related to wine and grapes.
The festival, running in areas around Dieu Hoa Lake in the provincial capital Phan Rang-Thap Cham City’s My Binh Ward, boasts 100 stalls which introduce grapes and grape products from local and famed foreign wine producers from France, Chile, Argentina, Australia, Hungary, Rumania, and Germany.
Highlights include processions, street music performances, exhibits of grapes and wine, wine-tasting sections, photo and cuisine competitions, kite flying, and low-range fireworks shows.
A seminar and demonstrations of grape-growing and wine-processing techniques and phases will also be held.
The opening, to take place at Dieu Hoa Lake at 8:00 pm tonight, will be broadcast live on national TV channel VTV2.
