Vietnamese middle and high school students are being encouraged to take part in a film-making competition to have a chance to go to Japan.
The contest, running with the themed “Things that I Hate,” has been jointly organized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Japanese Embassy in Hanoi.
Young contestants can submit their films of no more than three minutes in length.
The film must clearly reflect their thoughts, points of view on the theme, and create social impact.
Authors of the winning artworks will be invited to join the International Film Festival for Asian Children, to be held in November in Japan’s Hokkaido Prefecture.
In addition to the film, contestants are required to submit a short introduction in Japanese or English.
They are not allowed to ask for support from any adult.
The contest aims to help students learn to express their opinions, nurture and make their dreams come true.
Submissions must be saved on a DVD and USB, then sent to the Youth International Cooperation Development Center at 64 Ba Trieu Street in Hoan Kiem District, Ho Chi Ming City by July 28.
