The 14th edition of an international food festival featuring dishes from four different continents is giving Saigon’s foodies a chance to explore the world without leaving the city.
This year’s festival, themed 'Vietnam -- Kitchen of the World,' kicked off with an opening ceremony on Thursday and is set to run daily from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm at the Youth Culture House in District 1 until November 17.
More than 50 booths offering delicious regional dishes from across Vietnam, as well as cuisines from South Korea, Japan, Thailand, China, India, and several countries in Europe and the Americas.
The event will also feature a live cooking demonstration by chefs from five-star hotels on both November 16 and 17.

Chefs from the Saigon Professional Chefs Guild also have plans to demonstrate how to cook several traditional Vietnamese dishes.
Games and bartending performances are also scheduled to be held throughout the festival.
On Thursday evening, in honor of Vietnam’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier match, the festival organized a public live screening of the game, during which hundreds of football fans enjoyed international cuisines while celebrating the Golden Stars’ 1-0 victory over the UAE.
Over the past 13 years, the festival has attracted an average of 300,000 visitors annually, according to the organizer.
Vietnam was recognized as Asia’s Leading Culinary Destination at the 26th World Travel Awards in October while business magazine CEOWorld’s Street Food City Index ranked Ho Chi Minh City as the world’s fourth best hub for street food in 2019.
