More than 1,800 artists participated in various performances at a special music show organized in Hanoi on Tuesday evening to celebrate the success of Vietnam’s 13th National Party Congress.

Themed ‘Aspiration and Shine,’ the event took place at My Dinh National Stadium and was organized by the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Popularization and Education, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Hanoi People’s Committee.

The music show was attended by many Politburo members including Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission; Vuong Dinh Hue, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee; Vo Van Thuong, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Popularization and Education; Truong Thi Mai, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission; Pham Binh Minh, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, To Lam; Minister of Public Security; and Tran Cam Tu, Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission.

All artists had been tested for COVID-19 prior to the show, while the number of audience members was also limited due to the pandemic.

Strict COVID-19 prevention and control measures were applied during the event.

In his opening remarks, Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission, stated that the 13th National Party Congress -- an important national event -- had concluded successfully.

The five-yearly Congress marked a milestone in national development, opened a promising five-year term, and prepared for upcoming important events, namely the 100th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam in 2030 and the 100th founding anniversary of the country in 2045.

The prioritized tasks at present are to contain the COVID-19 epidemic, boost socio-economic development, take care of the people, and ensure traffic safety ahead of the Lunar New Year festival, Chinh stated.

The opening speech was followed by various performances, which were divided into three chapters entitled 'Under the Glorious Party Flag,' 'Spring Presented to the Party,' and the 'Great New Road.’

The 13th National Party Congress previously took place at the National Convention Center in the capital from January 25 to February 1, with the attendance of 1,587 delegates representing over 5.1 million Party members nationwide.
