The U.S.-Vietnam Cooperation Center made its debut in Hanoi on Tuesday and will function as a place for anyone interested in learning more about the two countries’ diplomatic relations.

The U.S.-Vietnam Cooperation Center is located on the campus of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam in the capital city.

It is an output of the partnership between the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam.

The space, open to academics, researchers, faculty, students, and the public, is set to be a platform for educational and cultural programming, research support, and academic services.

It will support the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam’s American studies program, English language studies, and leadership development, as well as provide information about the U.S. and its foreign policy.

The center is the second American Spaces partnership in northern Vietnam alongside the American Hangout at Thai Nguyen University in the namesake province.

The U.S.-Vietnam Cooperation Center joins over 600 other American Spaces around the world which encourage open dialogue and build bridges of understanding by serving as study centers for students and communal spaces for those interested in American culture and values, U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper said at the inauguration.

This center is a multicultural ecosystem where students can interact not only with American culture but also with other cultures, exchange languages, and understand the differences between each nation, said former Vietnamese Ambassador to the U.S. Pham Quang Vinh.
