Binh Duong Province in southern Vietnam and Nebraska, a state in the Midwestern U.S., agreed to boost cooperation in various fields, including investment, education, and industrial and agricultural production, during a visit by Binh Duong Chairman Vo Van Minh to the U.S. state early this month.
The Binh Duong delegation, led by chairman Minh, also included leaders of provincial departments, agencies, and districts, as well as representatives from large economic groups, the provincial administration said on Wednesday.
Tran Ba Duong, chairman of local giant auto Truong Hai Auto Corporation (THACO), and Pham Ngoc Thuan, general director of Becamex IDC, the investor of sevearl major infrastructure and industrial projects in Binh Duong, also joined the delegation.
The delegation visited Nebraska at the invitation of Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen.

Pillen expressed his hope that Nebraska and Binh Duong can continue cooperating closely in the fields of education, industry, and agricultural production in order to improve the competitiveness of enterprises in both localities.
Meanwhile, Binh Duong Chairman Minh said that the visit to Nebraska was aimed at tightening the relationship between the two localities after they signed a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of twinning relations on the basis of equality and mutual benefits on July 12, 2023.
Binh Duong also plans to enhance cooperation with Nebraska in many sectors, Minh added.

The Binh Duong delegation also visited the University of Nebraska Omaha and the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Receiving the delegation, Ph.D. Joanne Li, chancellor of the University of Nebraska Omaha, said that the university currently has over 15,000 students, including over 600 foreign students from many countries worldwide, including Vietnam.
On the occasion, the University of Nebraska Omaha inked a cooperation agreement on education and technical science with the Eastern International University in Binh Duong Province.
Nebraska Governor Pillen paid a visit to Binh Duong in July of this year.
