-- Police in Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday detained a 37-year-old Nigerian man for fraud. The suspect, who claimed to be a successful businessman and assumed different pseudonyms, flirted with women on Facebook and talked them into transferring into his bank accounts “transport fees” in order to receive gifts from abroad.

-- Work started Saturday on the Traumatology and Orthopaedics Institute under the Ho Chi Minh City-based 175 Military Hospital. The project, which is built on a 33,226-square-meter plot and costs VND4.5 trillion (US$206.71 million), also boasts a helipad.Business

-- On Saturday FLC Group, a local conglomerate, started work on FLC Nhon Ly resort complex, located in Quy Nhon City, the heart of Binh Dinh Province in the central region. The 300-hectare complex, which costs VND3.5 trillion (US$160.77 million) to build and is expected to come into operation starting the first quarter of 2016, will boast a resort villa cluster on sea, the country’s first to attain the seven-star standard, along with several other structures.

-- The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has confirmed that the artist's impression of Chek Kap Lok International Airport in Hong Kong was not used in presentations about the Long Thanh Airport project. The confirmation came after some local newswires on Friday cited Dr. Tran Dinh Ba, of the Vietnam Economic Association, as saying that the artist’s impression used for the Long Thanh project is indeed the one of the Hong Kong airport.
