During the meeting, the Vietnamese official expressed his hope that American enterprises will continue to invest in Ho Chi Minh City. Meanwhile, Bachtell said the Communist Party USA is willing to cooperate and exchange experience with the Communist Party of Vietnam.Society -- Police in the central city of Da Nang have arrested Chinese Hao Yan Jun and Ping San Chi for using fake ATM cards. The two admitted that they had used the bogus cards for 16 times, withdrawing VND225 million (US$10,045) in cash. -- Authorities in Ho Chi Minh City have decided to spend VND20 billion ($892,857) from its budget to help people in the southeastern, Central Highlands and Mekong Delta regions who are suffering a severe drought. -- Police in the southern Vietnamese province of An Giang have initiated legal proceedings for a criminal case in which four Cambodian women were found on March 27 smuggling cash and gold worth around VND3 billion ($133,929) into Vietnam. -- The Vietnamese Ministry of Health has released guidelines on how to take care of pregnant women after two women in Ho Chi Minh City and the south-central province of Khanh Hoa have been found being infected with the Zika virus.Business -- The business environment in Vietnam is in the group of countries with low competitiveness, Pham Ngoc Thach, vice head of the legal department under the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), said at a seminar held by the United States Agency for International Development and VCCI in Ho Chi Minh City on April 6. -- Officials in Ha Long City in northern Vietnam have suspended the operation of Minh Huong 58, a tourist boat, after its operator was accused of ripping off a tourist. The operator was also fined VND1.5 million ($67) and required to return the tourist VND1 million.
