-- The Inspection Commission of Vietnam’s Party Central Committee (PCC) has proposed that the Politburo impose a disciplinary measure upon Nguyen Van Binh, a Politburo member and head of the PCC’s Economic Commission, for serious violations when he was governor of the State Bank of Vietnam several years ago.

-- The Ministry of Health on Wednesday morning recorded an imported COVID-19 patient who is an expert from Israel. The country’s tally stands at 1,203, with 1,069 having recovered and 35 deaths.

-- Goni, the country’s 10th storm in 2020, was at 320 kilometers southeast of the Hoang Sa (Paracel) Archipelago as of 4:00 am on Wednesday, with winds at 60-75km per hour. Strong winds will start affecting the south-central coast from Wednesday.

-- A 21-year-old man was fatally hit by a bullet after a police officer tested his gun in Hanoi on Friday night, the municipal Department of Police confirmed on Tuesday.

-- Police in the northern province of Ha Giang confirmed on Tuesday they had arrested a man and his three sons for straggling two people to death after he lost in a lawsuit on land dispute.

-- A man has been fined VND2 million (US$86) for burning tissue on a plane prior to its take-off at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on Monday morning.

-- The Australian Export Grains Innovation Centre (AEGIC) has said it is engaging with Vietnamese brewers and maltsters to expand its barley exports, as China recently imposed a tariff of over 80 percent on the product.
