Police in Ho Chi Minh City on Friday managed to find an Indian female tourist, who had gone missing while visiting a pagoda in District 1 a day before.
Appe 1 Travel Co. Ltd. confirmed later on Friday that 66-year-old tourist Kalwani Sunita Krishna had returned to the Indian travel group of 12 members, who arrived in the southern Vietnamese metropolis on Wednesday.
Functional forces found Krishna wandering at 23/9 Park on Pham Ngu Lao Street in District 1, about 3.7 kilometers away from her last location, at around 7:00 pm on Friday.
They also had the woman undergo physical and mental health checks, whose results returned normal afterward.
Appe 1 Travel reported to the police on Thursday that the group lost contact with Krishna while they were visiting Ngoc Hoang Pagoda on Mai Thi Luu Street in District 1 earlier the same day.
Upon the group’s arrival at the pagoda at 1:00 pm, Krishna stayed at the gate to rest while the other 11 Indian tourists went inside the venue following a tour guide.
Krishna’s husband, who was among the tourists, later told the tour guide that she was nowhere to be seen.
A street vendor selling beverages before the pagoda told the tour guide that the woman headed toward inside the venue about five minutes after the group.
