Vietnamese police have cracked down on a sex brokerage ring involving showbiz beauties from both Vietnam and South Korea who charged over US$15,000 per meet, with most of the money going to the broker.

Police officers from the Ministry of Public Security on Wednesday said they had arrested 31-year-old Le Hoang Long, a native of northern Hai Phong City, the suspected operator of the large-scale ring, after a period of investigation.

Long has been prosecuted on charges of sex brokerage under the Vietnamese Penal Code, the police said.

According to an initial investigation, Long acted as a sex broker for beauty queens, runners-up, and other showbiz beauties, both from Vietnam and South Korea.

The man had not only been the manager for a number of Vietnamese artists but also a manager and representative for several Korean artists who had been active in Vietnam, according to the police.

Long had been tracked down by investigators when they were expanding their investigation into another sex brokerage case uncovered in the central city of Da Nang, the police said.

Since mid-2022, after the COVID-19 pandemic subsided, the ministry’s Criminal Police Department has been following Long’s sex brokerage activities.

On August 25, police officers conducted a raid on a high-class hotel in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City and caught two couples having sex in two of the rooms there.

The testimonies of the two women involved led to the arrest of Long, who confessed to investigators that he had introduced the two beauties, named T.H. and T.T., to the two customers. 

Both beauties are quite popular in Vietnam’s showbiz world and are considered A-class celebs.

They have also both achieved high rankings at beauty contests.

Long charged each of his customers as much as VND360 million ($15,180) per meet-up with the women and pocketed approximately 85 percent of the revenues, leaving just VND60 million ($2,530) for T.H. and T.T.

These two celebs were among many Vietnamese and South Korean showbiz celebs in Long’s sex brokerage racket.

In addition, Long also colluded with foreign partners to act as a sex broker for women from other Asian countries. 

Long’s sex brokerage ring operated in secrecy by only entertaining customers who had been introduced by trusted acquaintances.
