Man sets himself on fire following conflict with family members in central Vietnam

A man from Quang Nam Province, central Vietnam set himself on fire following an argument with other family members on Saturday. 

The incident took place at a house in Binh Nguyen Commune, Thang Binh District at around 4:00 am on Saturday, the district police unit confirmed on the evening of the same day.

Preliminary information showed that T.V.P., 48, had a conflict with his family members and became infuriated.

P. then kicked his wife and child out of the house before pouring gasoline onto a motorbike and a refrigerator and burning them.

The man then proceeded to pour gasoline on his body and set himself on fire.

His family members and neighbors rushed to put out the flame.

P. was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment with serious burns.

The motorbike and the refrigerator in the house were burned and damaged following the incident.

Further investigation is ongoing.
