-- Vietnamese State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, his spouse, and a high-ranking delegation departed for Thailand on Wednesday morning for his official visit to the neighboring country and attendance at the 29th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting there.

-- The military force in the Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that they had successfully removed a 112-kilogram unexploded bomb from a shrimp farm in Duyen Hai District.

-- Phuong Trang Bus JSC recently submitted a proposal to the Department of Transport of Ho Chi Minh City on opening 17 new bus routes connecting Tan Son Nhat International Airport with urban areas, bus stations, university campuses, and seven districts in the city to meet travel needs.

-- Police in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang stopped a truck transporting a large volume of goods of unknown origin worth over VND1.3 billion (US$52,472) from Ho Chi Minh City to Tinh Bien District on Tuesday.

-- Nguyen Ngoc Thuy, chairman of Apax Holdings Joint Stock Company, which owns the APAX Leaders English center chain, recently submitted an explanatory letter to the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) following accusations of employee salary debt and tuition fee scams.

-- A 25-year-old man was arrested after using a fake gun to rob a bank VND1.75 billion ($70,635) in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap on Tuesday.

Business

-- Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern, Vietnamese Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan, and Minister for Trade and Export Growth and Minister of Agriculture of New Zealand Damien O’Connor witnessed the signing of a document on the implementation of a plan to export Vietnam’s lime and pomelo to New Zealand, along with a memorandum of understanding on cooperation prioritization between the TH True Milk company of Vietnam and the Waikato milk company of New Zealand on Tuesday. 

-- Vietnam’s Quang Ninh welcomed a group of 650 tourists from Malaysia on Tuesday as one of the results from the northern province’s efforts to promote tourism in the international market, including organizing the 17th General Assembly of the East Asia Inter-Regional Tourism Forum last month.

-- Google launched its e-wallet service in Vietnam on Tuesday, allowing people to connect them with Visa credit and debit cards issued by certain banks.
