-- Party General Secretary To Lam affirmed Vietnam’s readiness to share its agricultural development experience, including expertise in food and coffee production, with Malaysia, and called on Malaysia to support Vietnam in developing its Halal industry during his meeting with Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Rural and Regional Development, and President of the United Malays National Organization Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in Kuala Lumpur on Friday.

-- The World Health Organization estimated that antimicrobial resistance caused nearly 270,000 deaths in Vietnam between 2020 and 2023, according to a statement released at a press conference in Hanoi on Friday.

-- Northern Vietnam is expected to experience cold to chilly weather on Saturday, with mountainous areas seeing temperatures drop below 15 degrees Celsius. Central Vietnam may see heavy rain, while the southern region will possibly remain sunny during the day, said the national weather center.

-- Ho Chi Minh City ranks among the five fastest-sinking cities globally, subsiding by 10-15mm per year, with some areas experiencing subsidence of up to 6-8cm annually, according to research recently published in the journal Nature Sustainability on subsidence rates in various cities.

-- The Yen Xa wastewater treatment project in Hanoi, whose investment exceeds VND16.293 trillion (US$641 million), is set to begin trial operations on December 1 after multiple delays, said a city official on Friday.

-- The administration of Ho Chi Minh City has released a list of 31 critically dangerous riverbank, canal, and stream erosion hotspots for 2024. This list features five sites in Thu Duc City - an administrative district-level unit under the southern metropolis, and 17 locations in the outlying districts of Nha Be, Binh Chanh, Can Gio, and Cu Chi.
