Marc Knapper visited the Road 9 National Martyrs' Cemetery in Quang Tri Province, north-central Vietnam on Wednesday, as part of his first business trip to the locality as U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam.
Ambassador Knapper said he was very emotional and that the cemetery reminded him of the very painful history between the two countries, as well as the sacrifices and loss of people on both sides.
He pledged to continue working closely with Vietnam to find and identify people missing during wartime.

As the U.S. ambassador to Vietnam, Knapper guaranteed that his country will continue to cooperate with Vietnam on this issue.
