-- The northern region is forecast to face small to heavy rains on Thursday morning, while downpours will hit the southern and Central Highlands regions in the late afternoon, according to the national weather center.

-- Six vials of botulism antitoxins were shipped from Switzerland to Ho Chi Minh City-based Cho Ray Hospital by the World Health Organization to treat some cases of botulism poisoning at the hospital, the Drug Administration of Vietnam under the Ministry of Health said on Wednesday evening.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Civil Judgment Enforcement announced on Wednesday that it would take coercive measures against Anh Minh Hospital in Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City due to its pile of debt.

-- A 37-year-old man in Hai Duong Province, northern Vietnam has been arrested for allegedly committing domestic violence against his wife, who is seven months pregnant.

Politics

-- State President Vo Van Thuong on Wednesday received the ambassadors of Qatar, Brazil, Slovenia, Portugal, Estonia and Guinea, who came to present their credentials, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

Business

-- Vietnam’s wood and woodwork exports fetched VND93 trillion (US$4 billion) in the first four months of 2023, down 28 percent year on year, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs. Many wood firms attributed the drop to sky-high material prices and weak global spending.

-- National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will resume its trans-Indochina route linking Hanoi in Vietnam, Luang Prabang in Laos, and Siem Reap in Cambodia on the first day of July, with a frequency of three flights per week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, the Vietnam News Agency cited a representative of the airline as saying.
