A ship became entangled in a power line while sailing in a Tien River section in Tan Phong Commune, Cai Lai District, Tien Giang Province, southern Vietnam on Monday, causing a power outage for some 3,600 households with 16,540 residents.
The commune is coordinating with relevant agencies to deal with the incident, Nguyen Van Muoi, chairman of the People’s Committee of Tan Phong Commune, said on Monday afternoon.
The incident happened at about 8:00 am.
The ship, named Truong An 125, was sailing from Cai Be District to My Tho City, Tien Giang Province when it was tangled in the power line, cutting four electric wires and river-crossing fiber optic cables of mobile carriers Viettel and VNPT.
