A downpour caused serious flooding in the Tan Phong tunnel in southern Vietnam’s Dong Nai on Thursday evening, trapping several vehicles and forcing drivers to call on rescue vehicles for help.
Several areas in Dong Nai’s Bien Hoa City began experiencing heavy rains at around 8:00 pm on Thursday, resulting in serious traffic congestion.
The Tan Phong Tunnel, which runs along flood-prone Dong Khoi Street, was nearly half a meter under water, causing cars and motorbikes to break down and forcing many drivers to call tow trucks.

The southern province has seen medium to heavy downpours in recent days, according to a provincial weather center official.
On Thursday evening alone, rainfall reached 26mm in Bien Hoa City and 13mm in Trang Bom and Cam My Districts.
