Vietnam ranks second among the top destinations for tourists from South Korea, according to the immigration agency of the South Korean Ministry of Justice.
More than 16.2 million South Korean tourists traveled abroad by air in January-September this year, surging 382.7 percent over the 3.36 million from the same period last year.
Vietnam welcomed the second-largest number of South Korean arrivals during that period, at nearly 2.6 million, following Japan’s 4.9 million arrivals.
Experts believe South Koreans appreciate Vietnam’s warm climate and low costs.
Da Nang, a tourist city in central Vietnam, was the top destination for South Korean travelers to Vietnam this year.
