An over-two-minute video of around five or six foreign men performing various stunts while riding bicycles in Hanoi has gone viral on social media.
The video received more than 1.9 million views and over 53,000 reactions and comments from netizens as of Saturday afternoon, after it appeared on a major Facebook fanpage with over 300,000 followers almost one day ago, according to Tien Phong (Vanguard) newspaper, which is headquartered in Hanoi.
The video shows that these foreigners recklessly cycle along several streets in the capital city in the evening and perform dangerous stunts such as wheelies, riding with no hands, standing on the handlebar and the saddle of a moving bike.
They also use smartphones to film each other showing off their bike tricks.
Moreover, some of them almost hit an electric scooter when crossing an intersection.
Many motorcyclists on the road at the time were seen trying to avoid these foreign cyclists, while a number of local residents filmed them.
The video got mixed reactions from a huge number of netizens. Lots of them were amazed by such bike stunts.
Many others criticized the cyclists for breaking traffic rules and posing a risk of traffic accidents.
Two months ago, police in Ho Chi Minh City detained Tran Thi Ngoc Trinh, well known as Ngoc Trinh, a 34-year-old lingerie model, and filed charges against her for allegedly causing social disorder.
The move came after a one-minute video showing a woman putting both legs to one side of a motorcycle, kneeling on the saddle, and riding the vehicle with one hand went viral on social media.
Authorities in Thu Duc City under Ho Chi Minh City quickly verified the video and identified the woman as Ngoc Trinh.
After being summoned to a police station, the lingerie model admitted to violating the Law on Road Traffic by driving hands-free and lying down on her motorcycle.
She was booked for covering the motorcycle’s number plate while riding it, and having no special license that allows riding a motorcycle with engines of over 175 cc.
This native of Tra Vinh Province in the Mekong Delta region is infamous for her sensual fashion style and is dubbed an ‘underwear queen’ in Vietnam.
She started her fashion career when she was 16, and then competed in a model contest.
She has some six million followers on her verified Facebook account.
