A group of seven men and women have been arrested for opening fire to threaten a woman to pay debt in a province in north-central Vietnam.
Police in Dong Ha City under Quang Tri Province said on Tuesday night that they had brought a group of seven into custody pending an investigation into a case where these thugs opened fire and asked a woman to pay debt on the local National Highway 9 section on Sunday.
The incident transpired at 6:30 am on Sunday, when L.T.T.H., a 22-year-old resident of Quang Binh Province, was coerced into paying VND10 million (US$411.2) by a group comprising five men and two women.
The group used a gun and fired a shot to threaten H. before leaving the scene.
The shooting caused no casualties, however.

Police officers arrested all seven, aged between 17 and 27, at 2:00 pm on the same day.
They confiscated a gun, four bullets, and a pack of white powder suspected to be narcotics, while impounding two cars.
