Vietnam military training plane drops from sky

A military aircraft caught fire after falling out of the sky in Dien Ban Town, Quang Nam Province, central Vietnam during a training flight on Tuesday morning.
Phan Minh Dung, secretary of the town’s Party Committee, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper the same day that the incident occurred at 11:00 am.
After the crash, police officers and military forces swiftly arrived at the location to initiate rescue operations and conduct an investigation.
The pilot of military plane SU22 saved his own life by jumping off the falling aircraft with a parachute, Dung said.
It fell on an empty field near a local household’s backyard.
An air force official told Tuoi Tre that the training plane took off from neighboring Da Nang City.
No casualties were reported.
